Euston to host homeless on Christmas Day

London’s Euston station will be developed into a shelter for the homeless on Christmas Day.

The station concourse will be filled with tables and designs set for a complete joyful supper on 25 December.

Rail employees and charity personnel will serve food to 200 rough sleepers welcomed to the occasion.

About 30 volunteers from Network Rail will work along with charity St Mungo’s and Streets Kitchen to offer “some joyful cheer”.

Euston station supervisor Joe Hendry stated the station group was eagerly anticipating bringing the “special occasion to life”.

Steve Naybour, of Network Rail, who is leading the group running the occasion, stated: “Using a station to provide homeless individuals a Christmas supper and some joyful cheer is a terrific thing to do.”

“I’m happy to state we’ve had great deals of interest from Network Rail coworkers to offer to come along on the day to assist out,” he included.

“Everything, consisting of individuals’s time, has actually been contributed,” he stated.
