It was the biggest hotel in Japan. It lies on a remote volcanic island, nearly 300 km from Tokyo. There are no beaches, just scuba divers will discover something to do.
Unfortunately, it was not sustainable for such a big hotel to stay open. In spite of numerous efforts to bring it back to life, the hotel closed its doors for the last time in 2006. It’ s remarkable that a few of the spaces have actually established their own communities, while others are unblemished by time, besides a little bit of dust.
