Fans of the 1988 flick “ Coming to America ” remain in luck– Eddie Murphy is supposedly on board for a follow up.

Murphy validated the news Friday, stating that he was “ delighted that Coming to America 2 is formally progressing, ” according to Entertainment Weekly .

“ We ’ ve put together an excellent group that will be led by Craig Brewer, who simply did a fantastic task on Dolemite [Is My Name], and I ’ m eagerly anticipating bringing all these timelessand cherished characters back to the cinema, ” Murphy stated in a declaration to the outlet.

The star and comic will apparently as soon as again play Prince Akeem in the Paramount motion picture. Paramount is hoping most of the initial cast, consisting of Arsenio Hall and James Earl Jones, will return for the follow up.

Spoiler alert! The plot of the 2nd installation consists of Akeem discovering a long-lost child, EW reported.
