An unnamed 45-year-old “https://www.foxnews.com/category/travel/general/airports”target=”_ blank”> guest was apprehended last weekend for trying to smuggle a month-old leopard cub into India.
The male was supposedly flying on a Thai Airways flight from Bangkok, Thailand, to Chennai, India, on Saturday. When he landed after the three-and-a-half-hour flight, the male attempted to hurry out of the airport, however authorities stopped him after hearing odd sounds originating from his baggage.
They found the unique animal as they were questioning the male.
“ He was incredibly elusive in his replies so his luggage was opened for additional assessment, ” Chennai Airport Commissioner of Customs Rajan Chaudhary stated, ABC Net reported .
When authorities opened the travel luggage, they discovered a live 2.4-pound leopard cub inside a pink plastic cage.
“ The animal remained in a state of shock and was making trill noises and seemed weak, ” the authorities stated.
Customs officers bottle-fed the wild feline till the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau came. The guy, in addition to the cub, were committed India ’ s Tamil Nadu Forest Department, which is presently managing the case.
The leopard was ultimately moved to the Arignar Anna Zoological Park, BBC reported , where it will be held up until its location of origin can be determined. It will then be returned house.
