New Bachelor Peter Weber is clearing a couple of things up prior to his journey to discover love strikes our TELEVISION screens next week!
When the 28-year-old was revealed as ABC s next leading guy back in September, the choice increasingly divided audiences while some enjoyed for the airline company pilot, others were quite disturbed that fan-favorite and frontrunner Mike Johnson didn’t get chosen for the task. And even franchise alums openly spoke up with their complaints about the choice.
The 31-year-old military veteran would’ve been the franchise’s very first Black male lead, 2nd to Rachel Lindsay , who acted as The Bachelorette s first-ever Black female star back in season 13.
In a just recently launched interview with Entertainment Tonight, Pete lastly attended to all the reaction and described why there are no tough sensations about the circumstance on his end. He stated:
“A, I didn’t make this choice? I was really grateful to accept it and progress, however listen, no matter race, of identity or whatnot, everyone is deserving of love. And I’m not the only individual.”
With a program of assistance for Johnson and his similarly loved castmates, he continued:
“Mike would’ve been an excellent Bachelor. Tyler [Cameron] might have been an excellent Bachelor. They chose me and I’m really fired up and extremely humbled and I can’t wait on this journey to start.”
